John Kelleher, a high profile lawyer in Jersey (Channel islands), has commissioned me to paint his children’s portraits for the past twenty years, for his wife Cathy. For each decade of celebrating her significant birthdays, he has asked me to paint their three sons.
However not only was 2025 Cathy’s sixtieth birthday, but it was also a year to celebrate their youngest and middle sons’s marriages and the birth of their first grandchild, to their eldest son.
It has been a real honour for me to be commissioned by, and to walk alongside this generous and welcoming family, over the past two decades.
I’m already bracing myself for the next commission, assuming they will want to include the grandchildren too? I’d better block out the whole year for that commission!
